Sanctuary

Light Field Lab

Overview

Sanctuary was a holographic game experience intended to rely on familiar play mechanics (akin to Nintendo's Duck Hunt) while simultaneously creating a unique player interaction by fostering a direct link between physical and digital elements of the game.

GAME MECHANIC EXAMPLE 01

The player actively 'created' novel level designs through a combination of physical game pieces, pressure sensitive surfaces and real-time, procedural digital environment creation algorithms.

GAME MECHANIC EXAMPLE 02

A digital lazy-susan (carousel) was designed for the character selection UI to promote and heighten physical interaction.

RESULT

Helped establish reusable interaction frameworks and production methods for future holographic gameplay experiences.
